Watch: A New Trailer for ‘The Beguiled’

Sofia Coppola is back with The Beguiled, starring Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Colin Farrell and Angourie Rice. Adapted from the Thomas P. Cullinan novel A Painted Devil and the 1971 film starring Clint Eastwood, The Beguiled follows an injured Union soldier imprisoned in a Confederate girls’ boarding school. There, he “cons his way into each of the lonely women’s hearts, causing them to turn on each other, and eventually, on him.” There’s a new trailer for the film and frankly, it looks incredible. This ranks high on our must-see list. The Beguiled opens June 23. Watch the new trailer below.

“The Beguiled” is an atmospheric thriller from acclaimed writer/director Sofia Coppola. The story unfolds during the Civil War, at a Southern girls’ boarding school. Its sheltered young women take in an injured enemy soldier. As they provide refuge and tend to his wounds, the house is taken over with sexual tension and dangerous rivalries, and taboos are broken in an unexpected turn of events.
