Charlize Theron is ready to beat the hell out of everyone in Atomic Blonde. Based on the graphic novel by Antony Johnston, Atomic Blonde follows an undercover MI6 agent who is sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent and recover a missing list of double agents. In addition to Theron, the cast includes James McAvoy, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and John Goodman. That’s one hell of a cast, but the real draw is Theron, who seems to have fully embraced the ass-kicker phase of her career following her incredible performance in Mad Max: Fury Road.
Also exciting: Atomic Blonde is helmed by David Leitch, co-director of John Wick and director of the upcoming Deadpool 2. If Atomic Blonde ends up being as action-packed as John Wick, we’re in for something exciting. Atomic Blonde will have its world premiere at SXSW this weekend and open wide July 28. Watch the trailer for Atomic Blonde below.
